Essential Oils – Part II Lavender & Lemon
Living with Essential Oils – Lavender and Lemon. These two essential oils have numerous practical uses for daily life. Lavender essential oil is one of my favorite oils! It is known as a beginner oil and a very practical oil. This essential oil duo can both be used for aromatherapy, household cleaning, personal beauty care and natural medicine! Some oils would not be as fragrant or would have an alcohol scent as well. From my experience & research, the highest quality lavender oil I can buy from Young Living. I found many reasons why to keep going back to Young Living, one reason is I like that they use low temperature steam distillation making the oil pure and more effective.
Lavender Essential Oil
Lavender has a scent that’s a wonderful blend of fresh, floral, clean and calm. It’s a dynamic aroma that has made the flower a classic for perfumes, soaps, fresheners, and beauty products.
How to Use:
Topical: Apply 2-4 drops directly to the desired area. Dilution is not required, except for the most sensitive skin. Use as needed. Aromatic: Diffuse up to 1 hour, 3 times daily. Caution: Keep out of the reach of children. If you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication or have a medical condition, consult a health professional prior to use. Keep away from the eyes and mucous membranes.
When I first became acquainted with this oil, my family would use it to take the itch out of insect bites. We would bring it camping with us as well. One drop rubbed into a mosquito bite or a bee sting brought relief! We would also apply a few drops to our wrists during potentially stressful moments or when we needed a sense of calm.
- Relief – apply directly to insect bites
- Relaxing & soothing – apply to the bottoms of your feet, wrists, spray on linens or pillows
- Refreshing – apply to woolen dryer balls

- Air freshener – diffuse in your home, apply to mop when cleaning
