2017 the year Intentionally Healthy Living was created!
Reflecting back on the year, I will share my favorite recipes, adventures, and healthy living nuggets.
So many favorites!!! It was hard to narrow it down to only three recipes. When I think about what recipes I use the most and which foods I truly enjoy eating, I was able to come up with three favorites to share with you.
Doughnuts are just fun to eat!! I like the challenge of taking a high fat and high sugar breakfast food and making it low carb and low sugar BUT still delicious and guilt free. Grain Free Cake Doughnuts are my families all time favorite!
It was also fun to create a doughnut hole that was high on taste and refined sugar free. My teenage daughters found these to be a fun snack as well. Grain Free Doughnut Holes are perfect for those days when you have a just little bit of time in the kitchen.
I really fell in love with eating beet greens! Fresh greens straight off the beet stems and into my oven. I also love the added benefits of knowing you really really like something that is incredibly good for you body! How to bake or saúte beet greens can be found at Nutritious Beet Recipes.
Peanut Butter Cacao Energy Balls have been my go to recipe this year. They are a favorite snack food for many reasons; no baking required, no refrigeration, energy for my active family, and they can be prepared quickly.
Visiting Rocky Mountain National Park was my favorite adventure this year!! I loved being outdoors, hiking, photographing wildlife and camping with my family. This was my favorite post of the entire year; Rocky Mountain National Park Adventure.
Mackinac Island is my favorite place to visit in all of Michigan! It represents a quieter and slower paced daily living. This past June was a special adventure to take with my daughters. They love the horses, natural beauty of the island and slower pace as well. Mackinac Island Lilac Festival begins June 8 through 17, 2018.
Favorite Healthy Living Nuggets
The health benefits of drinking green tea and matcha green tea encouraged me to continue making these teas part of my every day life. It was fascinating to compare the two teas and how a little difference in harvesting can make such a difference in nutrition. What did you think of Green Tea versus Matcha Green Tea?
When I think of healthy living, I automatically think of being outdoors! Healthy Summer Outdoor Activities has many options for being active both in the water or on land. My favorite way to be active is hiking.
We’re in the middle of winter here in Michigan and thankfully we can still get outdoors to hike.
