Welcome Back to Week #2 of the 21 Weeks to Intentional Health! Our challenge this week is a Positive Attitude Towards Health.
I have no doubt that at some point we all have struggled with having a positive attitude towards our health. We’re human and we’re naturally bent towards not looking on the bright side every single day.

It’s even possible you might show more care and concern for other’s health over your own health.
Today we’ll take this approach:
- Busting 5 myths about a positive health attitude
- Looking at 5 benefits of a positive health attitude
- 5 challenges for us to apply this week!
“A positive attitude is a state of mind that expects and even envisions favorable results.”
Busting 5 Myths About a Positive Health Attitude
# 1 Myth: Scared of failing. We all know that person in our life that started off making daily smoothies or began a workout routine BUT it didn’t last long. Our mindset might be we’re scared of accepting any challenge because we too might not follow through or last very long.
Busted: “You never know until you try.” Yes, you need to try! Make a true commitment to yourself. Grab a friend to join you. Keep reading to find all the benefits of a positive health attitude.
#2 Myth: I will turn into a modern day hippy.
Busted: Accept the health challenges with a great attitude and it doesn’t matter how people label or perceive you. A modern day hippy is in general a person who is positive about creating a healthy lifestyle. They might enjoy micro-greens and use re-usable bags, but that’s not so bad, right?!
#3 Myth: Miss out on life (all the really fun things). It’s funny how our culture sets us up to believe that eating greasy pizza and indulging in unhealthy food and drinks makes life fun. I have heard this myth numerous times, and you can be positive about health and have a wonderful life.
Busted: Create a life that is fun and healthy! Enjoy healthy food and drink, and your body and mind will flourish.
#4 Myth: Too much work. It’s not fast food and it’s going to require energy and time, but it’s totally worth it!
Busted: Set aside the time in your day for becoming healthier, (ie. making a weekly dinner menu, grocery shopping for that menu and then setting aside time to prepare the food). Set yourself up to be success, and your attitude will follow.
#5 Myth: Too expensive. We have this misconception that being healthy is strictly buying organic groceries. Rather it’s a lifestyle of making good life and food choices.
Busted: Create a healthy plan for your life that suits your budget. It costs nothing to walk at a local park. A lot of health food can be created right at home; fermenting vegetables and brewing your own kombucha, cost around a $1. Do a quick search on Pinterest for ways to save on health food.
5 Benefits of a Positive Health Attitude
#1 Benefit: Healthy weight management. Imagine if you never had to experiment with another diet? Creating and living a healthy life actually makes weight management natural.
#2 Benefit: Reduce risk of disease. I love this benefit! It’s one of my # 1 reasons for desiring a healthy lifestyle. I want to live free of medications; and live out the purpose for my life. We might not be able to entirely eliminate disease, but reducing the risk of major disease is a huge motivation and benefit.
#3 Benefit: More active. It really doesn’t matter our age, we all desire to be independent and active. Personally I feel their is so much yet to explore and experience. The benefits of being active fits right in with a healthy lifestyle.
#4 Benefit: Energetic. You’ll have more energy to spend with those you love AND experience life! It’s a wonderful benefit to have the mental and physical energy to do our job(s) with excellence!
#5 Benefit: Make wise lifestyle choices. Life is not about overindulging in food and drink. You’ll be making wise choices that leave you with peace. You’ll appreciate being able to enjoy walking or exercising. Create a healthy home environment and set specific times to breathe fresh unpolluted air = fantastic benefits!
