What to eat for a quick snack that is GRAIN FREE and healthy!
Today we’ll look at snack ideas that are grain free, dairy free, corn free and gluten free! Most will have 0 sugars or they are naturally sweetened and have some nutritional value.
My approach is to look at the ingredient list and nutritional value. The snacks listed can be purchased either through amazon, your local health food grocery, online grocery stores as well as many large grocery store chains.
We want snacks without artificial colors, artificial flavors, and no refined sugars. However, taste and texture are still important factors when choosing a snack you’ll enjoy.
The 8 Best Grain Free (Healthy) Snacks
Products are not listed according to the most nutritious. I took a closer look at four products and gave a short review on them. I’ll list the pros, cons and taste/texture appraisal and flavor options.
#1 – Simple Mills Sprouted Seed Crackers (Garlic & Herb)
Pros: A nutritious and clean ingredient list. Zero sugars.
Cons: Only 4.25oz per box.
Taste/Texture: The flavor value is high. The texture is slightly different but it has a nice crisp cracker-like feel.
Ingredients: Seed blend (sprouted flax, sprouted sunflower, hemp, chia seeds), tapioca starch, cassava flour, organic sunflower oil, organic spice blend, sea salt, citrus flavor and rosemary extract.

Pros: Simple and clean ingredient list. Zero sugars.

Taste/Texture: A harder crunch with a ripple cut. Slightly salted.

Pros: Plant based, non-GMO verified, larger serving size. Sugar 1 g.
Cons: Higher carb (which could also be a pro). Not organic.
Texture/Taste: Lightly salted with a nice crunch. If you’re new to cassava flour, you’ll taste that distinct flavor.
Ingredients: Cassava flour, potato starch, chickpea flour, high oleic sunflower oil, tapioca starch, chickpea protein, Himalayan pink salt, organic honey, yeast, sunflower lecithin.

Clean ingredients (from wild caught salmon). High in Protein. 2 grams of sugar. The bag contains 2 servings.
The 8 Best Grain Free Healthy Snacks
You can omit (or limit) grains from your diet and have healthy snack options. None of the above are intended to be a substitute for nutritious wholesome foods. However, when you live a full and busy life you want quick snack options.

It’s easy to compare these healthier snacks to the more common conventional food snacks. We have to remind ourselves that these are make without artificial colors, flavors and refined sugars! They will taste different. Give your palate time to adjust to different flavors. And enjoy!
